Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not wrong in demanding proof of surgical strikes.
Addressing mediapersons, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief said that not only Rahul Gandhi, but he also wants to see the proof of surgical strikes.
The Chief Minister accused the BJP of using the messaging service WhatsApp to ‘spread untruths’. Religious sentiments are being provoked throughout the country, he said and added that ‘we need new thinking’ and put ‘divisive ideas’ aside to go forward.
‘The BJP is using surgical strike politically. The Army is fighting at the border. If anyone is dying, it’s Army personnel, and they should be given credit for it, not BJP,’ he said.
Rao hit out at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his recent ‘father-son”‘barb at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and appealed to BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda to replace him.
