New Delhi: Even as thousands of Indians stuck in Ukraine in the midst of attack by Russia, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi yet again raised the issue on Twitter asking the government to ‘urgently share a detailed evacuation plan with those stranded and their families’.
In a tweet, he said, ‘My heart goes out to the Indian students suffering such violence and their family watching these videos. No parent should go through this. GOI must urgently share the detailed evacuation plan with those stranded as well as their families. We can’t abandon our own people.’
As thousands of Indian students stranded in Ukraine try to return home using land routes out of the country, a young woman’s video has been widely shared, including by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. ‘Please, Jai Hind, Jai Bharat, please help us,’ says the student.
Priyanka Gandhi, in her message on the video, said such accounts were deeply painful. ‘For God’s sake, do whatever possible to get these children to India. The whole country is with these students and their families,’ she wrote, tagging Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
