Chennai : Jayakalyani, daughter of Tamilnadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister PK Sekar Babu has approached the Bengaluru police seeking protection from her father.
According to Jayakalyani, both she and her husband, Satish Kumar, have been receiving death threats after they got married on Monday. ‘I suspect the role of my father behind this. I am an adult. We both love each other and have got married. We were given death threats, therefore we have approached the Bengaluru police commissioner seeking protection,’ she said.
Jayakalyani married Sathish Kumar, a diploma graduate-turned-businessman, despite stiff opposition from the family. In a video released to the media soon after the wedding at Halaswamy Math in Hirehadagali in Vijayanagar district of Karnataka, she said, ‘Sathish and I have been in a relationship for about six years and walked out of our homes to marry. We both are major and have exchanged wedding vows with consent.’
She also appealed to her father not to intimidate Sathishās family. Sources said the Minister lodged a police complaint stating that his daughter has gone missing and suspected she might have been kidnapped. Jayakalyani is a doctor by profession.
