Chennai: Covid-19 cases in Tamilnadu further declined to 77 on Tuesday and there were no casualties. While the overall tally increased to 34,52,073, the net fatalities stood at 38,024.
A total of 19 districts had no fresh cases on Tuesday. In Chennai, the number of fresh cases dipped to 28, while there were 10 cases in Coimbatore. The remaining districts had fewer than 10 cases.
Several districts including Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Erode, Kallakurichi, Kanyakumari, Karur, Madurai and Mayiladuthurai reported nil Covid cases. Barring Chennai (28) and Coimbatore (10) other districts reported cases in single digits including nearby Chengalpet (8).
A total of 50,877 persons were vaccinated in the State. They included 15,840 children aged 15-18 and 18,706 persons aged 18-44.
Meanwhile, Puducherry clocked five fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall tally to 1,65,764.
