TN has done well in human and economic development: Governor


Governor R N Ravi interacted with the faculties and course members of National Defence College.

Chennai: Tamilnadu Governor R N Ravi has interacted with the faculties and course members of National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi who were on a Study Tour to Tamilnadu at Raj Bhavan.

The team consisting of 15 officers of Armed Forces, two officers from Civil Services and officers from friendly foreign countries of Australia, Iran, Nepal, Uzbekistan etc., called on and interacted with the Governor, who said that Tamilnadu, reflects vividness of the rich diversity of India with its richness of language, literature, history and cultural spirituality.

After Independence, Tamilnadu has played a crucial role in evolution of the Constitutional history of India and has done remarkably well in human and economic development.

He highlighted that Tamilnadu is ranked among ten top states in the Nation in education, health, infrastructure, information technology, industries, agriculture, energy sector, women empowerment, rural development, ensuring peace and harmony among the people including social development.

Ravi also highlighted that with about 600 engineering colleges and 56 medical colleges Tamilnadu has rich human resources. The State has taken full advantages of the Union government’s scheme to establish one medical college for each districts in the country.

The Governor said under the abled leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a vision for Nation, there have been numerous welfare and prosperous schemes for the poor, marginalised and deprived section without any regional, religious, community or political discrimination.
