Stalin woos investors in Dubai, promises all support


Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who is on a four day visit to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, met two UAE Ministers and invited them to visit the State along with a delegation of investors to set up facilities in the State.

A range of areas including food processing, textiles and renewable energy came up for discussion at a meeting in Dubai between Stalin and the United Arab Emirates government.

Stalin met UAE Minister for Economy Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri and Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi at the Dubai International Financial Centre and discussed making investments in Tamilnadu in various sectors. He promised all support from Tamilnadu government.

Stalin inaugurated the Tamilnadu stall on Friday at the expo’s Indian pavilion. Tamilnadu Week is also being observed at the Dubai Expo for one week from 25 to 31 March.

The Chief Minister was welcomed by the Tamil diaspora when he inaugurated the Tamilnadu pavilion. After witnessing the cultural programmes at Tamilnadu pavilion, he said the State will continue to protect Tamils across the world.

The Chief Minister highlighted the conducive atmosphere that prevailed in Tamilnadu for setting up of industries and invited both the Ministers to visit the State and depute a delegation of investors.

During the meeting, strengthening the economic and trade relations with the MSMEs of both the countries, creating an environment for setting up new industries, strengthening the Industrial situation and jointly work by investing in various sectors like agriculture, food processing, textile, garments, jewellery and precious stones, e-vehicles, motor vehicle, vehicle spare parts, renewable energy, were discussed.
