Change in Tamilnadu Cabinet: Portfolios of 2 Ministers shuffled

Chennai: For the first time after the DMK came to power last year, a change was today made in the Tamilnadu Cabinet.

Transport Minister R S Rajakannappan has been made Backward Classes Welfare Minister. S S Sivasankar, who was hitherto holding the portfolio, will now take care of Transport department.

According to a Raj Bhavan release, ‘Based on recommendations of the Chief Minister, the portfolios of “Transport, Nationalised Transport and Motor Vehicles Act” dealt with by R S Rajakannappan has been allocated to S S Sivasankar and re-designated him as Minister for Transport.’

It added: ‘The portfolios of “Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes Welfare and Denotified Communities Welfare” dealth with by S S Sivasankar has been allocated to Rajakannappan and re-designated him as Minister for Backward Classes Welfare.’
