Chennai: State-owned oil companies today revised the prices of petrol and diesel by 80 paise a litre each, following which they are being sold at Rs 101.81 and Rs 93.07 per litre in national capital Delhi.
In Chennai, the price of petrol is Rs 107.45 and diesel price is Rs 97.52, an increase of 76 paise. The petrol price in Kolkata is Rs 111.35 per litre and diesel is Rs 96.22 per litre. This is the ninth increase in the last 10 days.
In Mumbai, the petrol and diesel prices per litre reached Rs 116.72 and Rs 100.94 respectively.
Rates have been increased across the country and vary from State to State depending upon the incidence of local taxation.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has attributed the fuel price rise to the disruption in supply chains and the resultant increase in global oil prices due to the war in Ukraine.
