Chennai: Fresh Covid-19 cases in Tamilnadu dropped to 21 on Monday, when the State continued to have zero deaths, discharged 33 patients and has 263 patients on the active registry.
According to Health Minister Ma Subramanian, ‘the exclusive Covid-19 hospital in Guindy with 500 beds is now empty. There are only two patients in the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, which has more than 2,000 beds for Covid-19.’
Chennai reported fresh cases in the single digits for the second consecutive day, with eight persons testing positive.
While there were four cases in Kancheepuram, Coimbatore reported two and six districts ā Chengalpattu, Kanniyakumari, Krishnagiri, the Nilgiris, Thoothukudi and Vellore ā had one case each.
There was no fresh case of Covid-19 in the central districts of Ariyalur, Karur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Tiruchi on Monday, according to the bulletin issued by the State Health Department.
The Health department withdrew restrictions under the Public Health Act on Sunday considering all these positive signs.
