Speeding auto hits cop at Nandambakkam

Chennai: Two policemen have been injured while trying to stop errant drivers in Chennai.

In the first incident, an auto at high speed rammed into a police checkpoint at Nandambakkam, injuring one cop in the process. Sub-Inspector Ponraj was at a police checkpoint near Nandambakkam when he was hit by the speeding auto.

The Nandambakkam police said that Ponraj suffered minor injuries in the accident and was treated as an outpatient in the hospital.

In the second incident, Constable Jones Rajan, of Mylapore traffic enforcement wing was trying to stop Dhanush Kumar of Raja Annamalaipuram, who was driving without a helmet.

However, Dhanush drove away the two-wheeler, dragging Rajan for a few meters. Police managed to arrest him.

Two policemen have been injured while trying to stop errant drivers in Chennai.
