Erode: A man, who was presumed to be dead and buried by his family, returned home in a village in Erode district much to the shock of his kin.
Moorthy (55), a daily wage worker at Bangalapudur, had left for Tirupur a few days ago to harvest sugarcane. According to police, Moorthy’s son Karthik received a phone call from a relative on Sunday morning, stating his father was found dead at Sathyamangalam bus stand. Karthi rushed to the spot and confirmed it was his father’s body.
Sathyamangalam police registered a case and handed over the body to the family. The final rites were performed in the village.
On Monday night Moorthy walked into the house much to the shock of his family members. Moorthy told them that completed the work and had returned home.
The Sathyamangalam police have resumed the inquiry to trace the identity of the deceased.
