Chennai: A 38-year-old woman was murdered by her husband in Kannagi Nagar since she allegedly quarreled with him over his alcohol addiction.
Police said Thiagarajan was a painter and had been without any work since the Covid-19 pandemic whereas his wife Dhanalakshmi had to take up domestic jobs. Due to this, the couple had regular fights.
On Saturday, Dhanalakshmi abused Thiagarajan for drinking and not going to work. In a fit of rage, Thiagarajan allegedly stabbed Dhanalakshmi with a kitchen knife.
She died on the spot. On information, Kannagi Nagar police rushed to the spot and sent Dhanalakshmi’s body for post-mortem. Thiagarajan was arrested for murder and remanded in judicial custody.
