Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested two close aides of underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim and his close confidante and wanted terrorist Chhota Shakeel.
In a press release, the agency said that two Mumbai-based associates of D-Company – Arif Abubakar Shaikh (aged 59) and Shabbir Abubakar Shaikh (aged 51) – have been arrested and a further probe is underway.
According to the NIA statement, Interpol has also issued a Red Corner Notice against Chhota Shakeel who operates an international criminal syndicate from Pakistan. He is involved in extortions, narcotics smuggling, and violent terrorist activities – the note added.
