Delhi fire: 27 killed, many critically injured


New Delhi: At least 27 people died after a major fire broke out in a commercial building near Mundka metro station in west Delhi on Friday evening.

The fire has been controlled. Bodies of all the 27 people who were killed in the blaze have been recovered. Meanwhile, 12 people were also reported to be injured in the fire incident.

Satpal Bhardwaj, Divisional Officer, Fire Department said that the fire was brought under control. He added, No new body has been recovered (After 27 bodies).

Around 60-70 people have been rescued from the building, according to the police. Some people are still trapped inside, they said.unil Choudhary, Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Delhi Fire Service had earlier confirmed that 26 bodies have been recovered from the building.

The information about the blaze was received at 4.40 pm following which 24 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, fire department officials said..the fire was broken out near pillar number 544 of the metro station, they said.
