Modi arrives to rousing reception


Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a rousing welcome when he arrived at the airport from Hyderabad on a brief visit to the
city to inaugurate and lay foundation for various developmental programmes.
He was received at the airport by Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi, senior Ministers Duraimurugan, K.N.Nehru and K.Ponmudy, Union Minister and BJP leader L Murugan, Chief Secretary V Iraianbu, senior BJP leaders, opposition leader and AIADMK Co-Coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami,
TMC Leader and former Union Minister G.K.Vasan, State DGP C.Sylendra Babu, Chennai City Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal, senior police and government officals.
The BJP organised two road shows–one at Sivananda Salai and the other in front of Ripon Buildings near Central Railway Station–on the Prime Minister’s entourage from INS Adayar to the event venue. Modi waved hands at people from his car.
