AG&P Pratham begins big work in Ramnad

Chennai :  With ambitious plans for the state of Tamilnadu, AG&P Pratham, a leading player in the Indian City Gas Distribution (CGD) industry, commenced steel pipeline laying work in Ramanathapuram and Keelakarai. AG&P Pratham has also launched three CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) stations in the Ramanathapuram Geographical Area (GA) and aims to launch four more in various locations of the GA such as Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Keelakkarai, and Sayalgudi by March 2023 to meet the growing demand for CNG. With an aim to provide cleaner air for healthier living, the company also provides a 24×7 natural gas supply in Ramanathapuram by establishing gas grids in Pattinamkattan and Rameshwaram areas, with an aim to achieve 15,000 PNG (Piped Natural Gas) registrations by March 2023.

With this extensive pipeline infrastructure planned for the region, the project will generate over 1000 direct and indirect employment opportunities for the people of Ramanathapuram district. The company has started Steel Pipeline Laying work from CGS Plant Valuthoor to Kumariyakovil to provide continuous CNG/PNG supply to Domestic Customers and Company Owned & Company Operated (COCO) gas filling station will be established in Kuyavankudi village, Ramanathapuram. Furthermore, three daughter booster filling stations are already planned in areas of Paramakudi, Keelakkarai and Sayalkudi for this fiscal year. Medium Density Poly Ethine (MDPE) networks in Pattinamkattan, Sakkaraikottai and Ramanathapuram Municipality areas are also slated to start to ensure households are well connected with PNG facilities in these areas.

The Steel Pipeline Laying work will not only provide continuous CNG/PNG supply to domestic customers but also several economic benefits, by reducing their fuel
bills by 50% and resulting in 22% savings in households cooking fuel. As part of its business expansion strategy for the state of Tamil Nadu, AG&P Pratham will deliver 11 CNG filling stations and ensure PNG supply to 41,311 households within the next
eight years.

Addressing the gathering, E.Poomari, Regional Head, AG&P Pratham said, “We are doing some spectacular work in Ramanathapuram to make living more sustainable for its citizens by providing them easy access to economical natural gas. With this project, the company is bringing much needed infrastructure to this district. We believe that the commence of this steel pipeline is a welcome step in the right direction for the growth and development of the region, he said. Our pipeline work in Ramanathapuram is safe, secure and will not only benefit people by allowing them access to cleaner, safer and economical fuel, but also help the state’s economy by accelerating industrialization, creating jobs, thereby improving the overall quality of life of people”, he said.

AG&P Pratham holds 12 CGD licenses awarded by the Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), under Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG), to exclusively provide natural gas for everyday across five Indian states. In Tamilnadu, AG&P has been authorized to develop CGD networks in six districts which include Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Ramanathapuram, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts.The company is actively aiming to achieve around 10,000 domestic registrations for PNG and 7 CNG stations in this region by December 2022.
