New Delhi: India logged 4,518 new coronavirus infections taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,81335, while the daily positivity rate was recorded above one per cent after 34 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The active cases rose to 25,782 and the death count climbed to 5,24,701 with 9 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
Amid a rise in Covid-19 cases, the Centre had sent the letter to five states including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
In the letter, the govt advised these states to follow a five-fold strategy i.e test – track – treat – vaccination and also follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, monitoring clusters of new COVID-19 cases and adequate testing as per the guidelines.
