Presidential Election to be held on 18 July, counting on 21 July

The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced the schedule for the upcoming President Election 2022.

The voting for Presidential Election will be held on July 18 and the counting of votes will be on July 21, 2022.

The tenure of President Ram Nath Kovind will end on 24 July 2022.

The poll dates for the President of India Election 2022 were announced during the press address by the Election Commission of India.

It must be noted that the Presidential elections in India in 2017 were held on July 17 and the declaration of the winner was announced three days on July 20, 2017.

As per Article 62 of the constitution of India, an election for the next President must be held before the completion of the incumbent’s term.

In President Election 2022, the elected members of the legislative assemblies of all the States and Union Territories of Delhi as well as Puducherry will also take part in the voting process of Presidential Elections in India.
