Pattampoochi is a psycho thriller. It is more a brain game between the hero and villain, says filmmaker-actor Sundar C.
Sundar C and actor Jai are collaborating on Pattampoochi, which hitting the screens on June 24.
Touted to be an investigative thriller Pattampoochi also features Honey Rose, Imman Annachi and others. The movie is helmed by Badri, known for directing films like Aintham Padai and Thillu Mullu.
Bankrolled by Khushbu Sundar under the Avni TeleMedia banner Pattampoochi has music by Navneeth S and cinematography by Esakki Krishnasamy.
Says Sundar C, ‘I play a cop. But he will be quite different from what I did so far. He is brainy. There are no gravity-defying stunts here. Pattampoochi is more about how the protagonist goes behind the villain and hunts him down’.
Jai, who plays a psycho killer says, ‘I always wanted to do variety. When they approached me, I heard the story and liked it instantly. To do a character with negative shades was a learning experience’.
On his part, Badri says, ‘We wanted to come out with a thriller. And it is what we exactly managed to shoot. A period film set in late 80s, it speaks a lot. We shot in difficult terrains. Jai has done a good job and we wanted someone who people love as psycho in the film. Thnks Jai came into cast’.
Sundar C is solid as cop. His performance deserves a special mention, adds the director.
