Tamilnadu clocked 2,662 cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chennai recorded 1,060 cases. Chengalpattu saw 373 cases. Coimbatore reported 137 cases of Covid-19, Tiruvallur had 132 cases and 112 cases were reported in Tiruchy.
In the wake of a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in the city, the Greater Chennai Corporation has made the wearing of masks mandatory in Chennai. The order will be effective from July 6, and violators of the mandate will invite a fine of Rs 500.
