Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting Union Budget 2023-24 in Parliament. She calls it the “first Budget of Amrit Kaal and the blueprint for India @100”. This is this government’s last full-fledged Budget before the Lok Sabha polls early next year.
Speaking in Parliament, the Finance Minister said that the government will be implementing a scheme to supply foodgrains from January 1, 2023 to all Antaodaya and priority households for the next one year. She stated that the current year’s economic growth was estimated to be at 7 per cent, and that the Indian economy was on the right track despite challenges.
