A rom-com, Adiye is directed by Vignesh Karthick who earlier helmed Thittam Irandu. GV Prakash plays the lead Gouri Kishan, known for her work in ’96, Master and Karnan, is playing the female lead. Venkat Prabhu and RJ Vijay have a part to play. Justin Prabhakaran is composing music for Adiye. The film is produced by Prabha Premkumar under the banner Maali & Manvi Movie Makers. The movie more a comical spoof begins with a scientist Venkat Prabhu who team loses a newly-invented device. Cut to GV Prakash, a dejected youth who wants to end life. He develops a crush for his schoolmate Gouri. He goes from pillar to post to express his love for her but in vain. The latter leave to Canada for higher studies. GV Prakash takes to liquor that night only to wake up the next day with surprise. He is transported to a parallel world where all things rosy. But confusions prevails. The surreal or parallel world and GV Prakash’s encounters there makes up the movie Three cheers GV Prakash. He is fantastic in his role. Humour, anger, agony form part of his character. So is Gouri Kishan. Their on-screen chemistry deserves praise. Venkat Prabhu excels and his one-liners holds sway. All characters have a part to play. Justin Prabhakaran ‘s songs and BGM go hand-in-hand with the story. Gokul Binoy’s camera is bright and beautiful. Kishore Sankar’s dialogues evoke enough laughter All said, Adiye is a sci-fi fantasy fare with feel-good and engaging moments.
