The Chennai Regional Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning, stating that the state is expected to witness moderate to heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms throughout the week. These intermittent weather patterns have the potential to impact various parts of Tamil Nadu.
The meteorological department attributes these weather fluctuations to variations in westerly wind speed. According to their forecast, light to moderate rain with thundershowers can be expected in several areas across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on Wednesday. However, the department also anticipates heavy rainfall at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Coimbatore district, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, and Madurai districts.
