DMK initiates seat-sharing talks with allies for 2024 Lok Sabha polls

In the lead-up to the much-anticipated 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, has taken a significant step by commencing seat-sharing discussions with its alliance partners.

On a recent Monday, Qadar Moideen K NavasKani MP and Abu Bakar, representing the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), met with DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan at the DMK party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, in Chennai. Their discussions were reported to be extensive and aimed at determining the allocation of Lok Sabha constituencies among the alliance members.

One of the key points of interest in these discussions is the role IUML will play within the I N D I Alliance, led by the DMK. This meeting is expected to culminate in the finalization of the specific Lok Sabha constituency that IUML will contest in the upcoming elections.

This early start to seat-sharing talks underscores the DMK’s intent to maintain its lead in the race for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections
