A mother and her teenage daughter lost their lives after an air-conditioner exploded in their residence in Ambattur, Chennai. The victims, identified as Halina (50) and her daughter Nasriya (16), were asleep in their Menampedu home near Indira Nagar when tragedy struck.
The unfortunate incident was triggered by a blast in the air-conditioning system caused by electrical leakage. The explosion not only shattered the tranquility of their home but also set off a raging fire that engulfed the entire room, leaving them with no chance of escape.
A senior police officer, commenting on the incident, stated that the explosion and subsequent fire were responsible for the tragic loss of lives. The mother and daughter, who were sound asleep at the time, had no opportunity to react or seek help.
