Panchayat secretary who kicked farmer during gram sabha meeting in Srivilliputhur, suspended

Srivilliputhur DSP Mukesh Selvakumar on Tuesday formed three Special Forces to arrest a panchayat secretary who kicked a farmer in the gram sabha (Village council meeting) held at Pillayarkulam village panchayat near Srivilliputhur in this district on Monday. A case has been registered against panchayat secretary identified as J Thangapandian under four sections of the IPC and he was suspended immediately after the incident by BDO (Block Development Officer). Following the incident, the Block Development Officer of Srivilliputtur, Meenakshi conducted an initial probe and based on the findings, the panchayat secretary was suspended with immediate effect.
