Senior AIADMK leader D Jayakumar has raised concerns over the conduct of Assembly Speaker M. Appavu. Jayakumar vehemently condemned the Speaker’s remarks about the AIADMK within the legislative body and accused him of displaying bias.
In a strongly worded statement,Ā Jayakumar voiced his disapproval, claiming that the Speaker not only disrespected the principal Opposition party, the AIADMK, but also appeared to be encouraging individuals who had been expelled from the party. He further alleged that Appavu seemed to have forgotten his role as the Speaker of the House, criticizing his actions as “anti-democratic.”
Jayakumar recalled some of the Speaker’s comments made in the Assembly and accused him of sounding like a “DMK spokesperson” while addressing matters on the floor.
