
The announcement came via a notification released by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice, signifying the President’s approval of these appointments. The two advocates have been appointed under the authority of Article 224(1) of the Indian Constitution. Their appointments are for a period of two years, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
N Senthilkumar, one of the newly appointed additional judges, brings an impressive legal career to the Madras High Court. With over 28 years of experience at the Bar, he has a deep and comprehensive understanding of the legal system. Senthilkumar’s practice has encompassed a wide range of legal areas, including constitutional, criminal, service, and civil cases. However, he is particularly recognized for his specialization in criminal and constitutional law.
G Arul Murugan, the other appointee, has established himself as a respected legal professional over 24 years of dedicated service.
The decision to appoint N Senthilkumar and G Arul Murugan as additional judges was initiated by the Collegium of the Supreme Court on July 17.
