2,265 special buses to be operated for for Ayudha Pooja


In preparation for the upcoming Ayudha Pooja festival on October 23, Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings have announced plans to operate 2,265 special buses from October 20 to 22. The initiative is aimed at facilitating the travel needs of individuals and families during this festive period.
Transport Minister SS Sivasankar disclosed that out of the total special buses, approximately 2,265 will depart from Chennai, supplementing the existing fleet of 2,100 buses. In addition, a network of 1,700 buses will be deployed to connect various destinations in the state.
To ensure efficient service, the buses will operate from three key terminus including Tambaram Mepz, Poonamalle, and Koyambedu. Specific routes have also been planned for destinations like Tiruvannamalai via Tindivanam and areas such as Polur, Vandavasi, and Gingee. Other buses will link cities like Panruti, Tirunelveli, Chidambaram, Vadalur, Puducherry, Cuddalore, and Chidambaram via Tindivanam.
Poonamalle terminus will serve as a departure point for buses traveling to Vellore, Arni, Arcot, Tirupattur, Kancheepuram, Hosur, Tiruttani, and Tirupati. For those heading to places like Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Madurai, Sengottai, Thoothukudi, Tiruchendur, Kanniyakumari, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Salem, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Guruvayur, and more, buses will also be available.
