Chennai has been ranked first amongst safest metro cities in India as per Numbeo: Crowd-sourced online database. The city got a global rank of 127, followed by Mumbai (161) & Kolkata (174).
It may be noted that earlier the study conducted by the talent strategy consulting firm “Avtar” on five metrics – ease of living, safety, women’s representation rate and women’s empowerment initiatives, “Chennai has emerged on top of the million plus category cities from the study as the top city for women in India.
Reacting to the survey, Greater Chennai Police said that it is committed to make the city even more safer for its citizen and would continue to work hard for the same.
