In a proactive move to safeguard against the impending monsoon season, the Minister of Municipal Administration and Water Supply, K N Nehru, led a comprehensive review meeting in Chennai. The gathering aimed to evaluate the state’s readiness to tackle water stagnation and disaster recovery in the face of heavy rains.
During the meeting, it was revealed that a total of 845 motor pumps have been strategically placed across the region to effectively manage water stagnation.
The meeting also highlighted an impressive fleet of 446 disaster recovery vehicles and machinery. Among these resources are mobile tree-cutters, telescopic pruners, garbage tractors, JCBs, and robotic multi-purpose machines.
To ensure the reliability and effectiveness of these resources, Dr. J Radhakrishnan, the GCC (Greater Chennai Corporation) commissioner, personally inspected the machinery on Tuesday.
