Chief Minister M K Stalin highlighted the arrival of new firms as evidence of a burgeoning industrial revolution in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at the inauguration of the Capital and International Tech Park in Pallavaram, he underlined the state’s commitment to keeping pace with global technological advancements and fostering equal industrial growth across its cities.Stalin emphasised the need for Tamil Nadu to adapt to the rapid technological changes taking place worldwide. The Capital and International Tech Park, spanning five million square feet, is designed to accommodate up to 50,000 IT professionals, a testament to the state’s determination to remain at the forefront of the technology sector.
The government’s proactive measures to position Tamil Nadu as the top state for industrial progress are reflected in their plans to develop nine neo-TIDEL (Tamil Nadu Industrial Development and Employment Promotion Investment Programme) parks in tier II and III cities. This initiative seeks to ensure that industrial growth is both comprehensive and widespread, reaching all corners of the state.
Furthermore, the state government is actively working to establish world-class infrastructure and sector-specific industrial parks that will attract investments. Industry-specific policies, such as the Tamil Nadu Research and Development Policy 2022, have been framed and released to encourage investment in research and development and skill development.
The impact of these efforts is already evident, with a notable increase in the number of global capacity centers and global skill centers in Tamil Nadu. Over the past couple of years, more than 30 Global Capability Centers have been established, including those by prominent companies like UPS, Walmart, and Hitachi Energy.
Chief Minister M K Stalin also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to extending full support for the development of the second phase of the Capitaland International Tech Park. This initiative represents the outcome of discussions held during his visit to Singapore and illustrates the state’s dedication to attracting investments and fostering economic growth.
