The Income Tax raids are currently underway at the residence and offices of the Tamil Nadu Minister for Public Works Department and Highways EV Velu since since this morning in Thiruvannamalai and Chennai.
The raids are being conducted following complaints regarding tax evasion, according to I-T sources. Similarly, the I-T sleuths are also conducting searches at realtors of popular real estate promotors including Appasamy Real Estates and Casagrande in Chennai.
Besides, close aides of the Minister and the contractors of the Public Works Department and Highways have also come under the I-T scanner.
