Vijay Kumar’s next is Fight Club

Renowned filmmaker-actor Vijay Kumar, acclaimed for his directorial ventures Uriyadi and Uriyadi 2, is gearing up for a comeback after a four-year hiatus. His much-anticipated return will be in the action-packed drama, “Fight Club,” under the direction of debut filmmaker Abbas A Rahmath. The film is proudly presented by Lokesh Kanagaraj’s recently launched production house, G Squad. Abbas, a former assistant to Vijay Kumar, sheds light on the narrative, describing “Fight Club” as a coming-of-age story. The film follows the protagonist’s journey from finishing school to navigating college life, exploring themes of student rivalry, a poignant love story, and the protagonist’s redemption after straying down the wrong path. The choice of the title holds significance, as Abbas explains, “The hero has a dream, but he is pushed to fight for it. This leads him to be acquainted with the wrong person, affecting him and his family. So, he fights to protect his peace. Thirdly, there is a great recall value for the name Fight Club.” In addition to Vijay Kumar, the cast includes debutant Monisha Mohan Menon as the female lead, alongside notable talents such as Avinash Raghudevan, Karthikeyan Santhanam, Shankar Das, and Saravanavel. The film’s cinematography is in the capable hands of Leon Britto, with editing by Kripakaran P. The music is crafted by Govind Vasantha, reuniting with Vijay after their collaboration on Uriyadi 2. Vijay also takes on the role of creative producer, while Abbas is the writer of this compelling narrative. “Fight Club” unfolds against picturesque backdrops, having been shot in locations like Pazhaverkadu and Manapad. The film is slated for release this December, promising audiences a gripping tale of dreams, adversity, and ultimate redemption. @@@@
