Counting of votes is set to take place for assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.
The counting of votes in all four states will begin at 8 am today with postal ballots being counted first after which the votes from the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be counted.
The elections are a crucial prelude to the Lok Sabha polls next year. While Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana voted in a single phase, the elections in Chhattisgarh were held in two phases.
The votes will be counted for 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 90 seats in Chhattisgarh, 119 in Telangana and 199 seats in Rajasthan.
Polling for one seat in Rajasthan was pushed back earlier following the death of the Congress candidate.
Exit polls predicted that Congress could win in Chhattisgarh while Ashok Gehlot could lose his job in Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh could choose the BJP again but Telangana may choose Congress and displace the BRS.
