Mudichur, Velachery, Pallikkaranai badly hit by floods

Parts of Chennai that come under its corporation limits have seen a reduction in flooding, many of the city’s suburbs are nearly submerged. Places like Manapakkam, Mudichur, parts of Velachery, Pallikkaranai, and many southern suburbs are still under floods. The rescue forces are using boats to rescue people trapped in their homes and many are yet to get their power supply back. Though the authorities are working on restoration, the reduction of water level in many southern suburbs is still an issue. Several areas in the capital city are yet to get back electricity supply. According to TANGEDCO, power has been restored in almost 60% of the areas while others have not been restored due to water logging. The officials say that they do not want to cause any untoward incidents and hence exercise extra caution to restore the power supply.
