BAPASI President, Sethu Chokkalingam, and Secretary, Mr. SK. Murugan, unveiled the details during a press meeting, outlining the schedule and key participants. The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 4:30 pm on January 3rd, will be graced by the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Joining him will be distinguished guests, including School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, marking the commencement of 19 days dedicated to the celebration of literature.
Visitors can explore the book fair from 11 am to 8:30 pm on holidays and from 2 pm to 8:30 pm on regular working days. The literary extravaganza extends beyond books, with Thought Hall hosting daily speeches by Tamil Nadu’s prominent writers and scholars in the evening.
An integral part of the book fair is the recognition of excellence in literature. The event will honor outstanding scholars with prestigious awards such as the Kalaignar Porkizhi Award and BAPASI Awards. The Kalaignar Porkizhi Award, an annual literature accolade, holds significance for Tamil and other language writers, adding an element of prestige to the fair.
