Unprecedented rainfall has particularly impacted districts like Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi, causing substantial damage to crucial routes such as Tirunelveli – Tiruchendur. Although repair work is underway, disruptions persist, affecting the daily commute of countless passengers.The heavily impacted train routes include Tiruchendur – Tirunelveli, Vanchimaniyachi – Tiruchendur, Tirunelveli–Sengottai, Tirunelveli–Nagercoil, Vanchimaniyacha – Thoothukudi, and Thoothukudi – Tirunelveli. Services on these routes have remained suspended for the third consecutive day, contributing to widespread inconvenience for commuters. However, there is a glimmer of relief as the Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli Express train has resumed normal operations since yesterday.
