As the clock struck midnight, political leaders and eminent personalities in Tamil Nadu came together to extend heartfelt New Year greetings, reflecting on the past year’s achievements and looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi set the tone by urging everyone to commit to excellence and contribute to the developmental journey of the nation, aspiring for a #ViksitBharat by 2047. His words resonated with a call for collective effort towards progress. Chief Minister M K Stalin, in his New Year message, expressed optimism about the future. He highlighted the continued commitment to the Dravidian model, emphasizing socialism, social justice, and brotherhood as the guiding principles. Stalin envisioned new achievements propelling the state to greater heights. Union Minister of State L Murugan conveyed hopes for reaching newer heights in developmental works under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. His message underlined the ongoing efforts and the anticipation of continued progress in the coming year. K Annamalai, BJP State President, greeted the people and emphasized the strength of the judiciary in combatting corruption. He called for a pledge to ensure the re-election of the non-corrupt government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024. K Balakrishnan, CPM State Secretary, reflected on the past year, expressing concerns about attacks on the secular fabric of the nation’s constitution. He called for a change of power at the center through general elections, aiming for hope and peace. AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami and former coordinator O Panneerselvam extended warm wishes for a New Year filled with joy, good health, and prosperity. TNCC President K S Alagiri wished for development for both the people and the state.
