Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has criticized Dravidian parties, accusing them of playing caste and communal politics in the state. Speaking during his pada yatra in Palacode, Pennagaram, and Dharmapuri assembly constituencies, Annamalai slammed the leaders of Dravidian parties for allegedly perpetuating caste-based politics in Dharmapuri and impeding educational progress. He specifically targeted the Dravidian parties, asserting that their approach is keeping the people of Dharmapuri in a state of illiteracy. Annamalai’s remarks highlight his concerns about the impact of caste politics on the educational development of the region. During his address, Annamalai praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Modi possesses the qualities needed for re-election as the country’s Prime Minister. He contrasted Modi with leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, and Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of corruption. Annamalai emphasized that there have been no corruption allegations against Modi during his 10-year governance. Further, Annamalai criticized the DMK and Congress for their alleged failure to improve Dharmapuri district despite ruling the state for several years. He pointed out the challenges faced by the residents, including a lack of potable water in the Pennagaram assembly constituency, despite the presence of the Cauvery River. Annamalai called for the state government to abandon the SIPCOT project in the district, aligning with his party’s stance on certain developmental projects. Additionally, he pledged that the BJP would construct a temple in Dharmapuri with financial assistance from the central government if an MP from his party gets elected from the Dharmapuri constituency.
