Construction of new block at KMC nears completion

The Public Works Department (PWD) is on the brink of wrapping up construction on the new block at Kilpauk Medical College, with an impressive 80-85 percent of the work already accomplished. Despite encountering a slight delay beyond the stipulated timeline, senior officials from the State Health Department reassure the public that the project is well on track to be fully completed by the upcoming month.
The new block stands as a pivotal element within the framework of the Tamil Nadu Urban Care Project, which has garnered substantial financial backing amounting to Rs 149 crore from the esteemed Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). This substantial investment underscores the commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure and services in the region, with the new facility poised to revolutionize medical care delivery.
Designed to meet the highest standards of excellence, the state-of-the-art block will serve as a comprehensive hub housing a myriad of medical specialties. Notably, it will streamline casualty ward facilities, consolidating critical services under one roof for enhanced efficiency and accessibility. This strategic consolidation aims to optimize resources and improve the overall patient experience, catering to the evolving healthcare needs of the community.
