Chennai, Feb 17: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, in his address to the Assembly proudly presented what he described as the 10 key achievements of the ‘Dravidian Model’ government of the DMK. These accomplishments, he asserted, have not only propelled the state’s progress but have also served as blueprints for other states to follow.
Stalin began by highlighting Tamil Nadu’s significant contribution to the Indian economy, boasting a remarkable nine percent share. This robust economic growth has positioned the state as the second-largest contributor to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with a commendable growth rate of 8.19 percent, surpassing the national average.
In addition to economic prowess, the Chief Minister underscored the state’s success in controlling inflation, with Tamil Nadu achieving a lower inflation rate of 5.97 percent compared to the national average of 6.65 percent.
Further accolades were bestowed upon Tamil Nadu for its exemplary performance in exports. The state clinched the top spot in the Export Preparedness Index nationwide, bolstering its reputation as a hub for export-oriented industries, particularly in the electronic goods sector.
Stalin also emphasized the government’s efforts in fostering a conducive environment for industrial investment, catapulting Tamil Nadu to the third position in the country from its previous ranking of 14th. This surge in industrial activity has been instrumental in driving economic growth and generating employment opportunities.
Education emerged as another area of triumph for Tamil Nadu, with the state ascending to the second position in the national rankings. Additionally, Tamil Nadu leads the way in innovative industries, underscoring its commitment to fostering creativity and technological advancements.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering dedication to uplifting marginalized communities, including women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized individuals. Through targeted policies and initiatives, the government has succeeded in enhancing their quality of life and socio-economic status.
Stalin concluded his address by expressing profound satisfaction in witnessing the tangible impact of government schemes on the lives of beneficiaries. As he signs files for the implementation of various welfare measures, he is reminded of the faces of those who stand to benefit, instilling a sense of fulfillment and motivation to continue advancing the state’s development agenda.
