Chief Minister MK Stalin marked a significant milestone in Tamil Nadu’s industrial landscape by laying the foundation stone for an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi. The establishment of this facility by Vietnam’s VinFast at Sillanatham underscores the state’s commitment to fostering sustainable and innovative industries. The ceremony, graced by Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa, signifies a new era of collaboration and investment in Tamil Nadu’s burgeoning EV sector. Spanning 380 acres, the manufacturing unit represents a substantial investment of 16,000 crore by VinFast, highlighting the company’s confidence in Tamil Nadu’s conducive business environment and skilled workforce. The initiative aligns with the state government’s vision to promote green technologies and drive economic growth through sustainable industrialization. In addition to commemorating the commencement of the manufacturing unit, Chief Minister Stalin demonstrated his administration’s dedication to addressing the needs of the people. Following the ceremony, he extended compensation to flood victims in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting communities in times of adversity. In his address, Chief Minister Stalin underscored the challenges faced by the state in securing flood relief funds from the Union government. Despite this, he emphasized the Tamil Nadu government’s proactive approach in allocating sufficient funds to provide compensation to affected individuals. Stalin reiterated the DMK-led government’s unwavering commitment to serving the people and overcoming obstacles to achieve developmental objectives.
