Huge haul of methamphetamine in city

In a significant breakthrough, the Avadi City Police apprehended two individuals for their alleged involvement in trafficking approximately 200 grams of methamphetamine, valued at around Rs 15 lakhs. The arrest comes following a meticulous operation conducted by the Ambattur police, who received a tip-off regarding the movement of synthetic drugs within their jurisdiction.
Acting swiftly on the information received, law enforcement teams were mobilized to intercept the suspects and secure the contraband. A police team stationed at Banu Nagar near Ambattur stopped a vehicle under suspicion, and upon questioning the occupants, encountered evasive responses, prompting their detention for further investigation.
Upon thorough inspection of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered the illicit drugs concealed within, leading to the immediate arrest of the occupants. The arrested individuals were identified as Babu (25) and Ramesh (24). Preliminary investigations suggest that the duo procured the narcotics from Bengaluru with the intention of distributing them within the region.
The successful operation underscores the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in combatting the scourge of drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. The Avadi City Police, in collaboration with their counterparts in Ambattur, have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to upholding law and order and curbing illicit activities that pose a threat to public health and security.
