Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a blistering attack, questioning the Prime Minister’s record of delivering for the state and accusing him of seeking votes without addressing the needs of the people.Speaking at the launch of the North Chennai Development Project on Mint Street, Chief Minister Stalin emphasized the commitment of the DMK and the people of Tamil Nadu to the development and progress of India. He asserted that preaching about patriotism was unnecessary, as their actions, including lobbying for funds in Parliament, demonstrated their dedication to national development.
Stalin highlighted the disparity in fund allocation, criticizing the Prime Minister for only allocating a fraction of the taxes contributed by Tamil Nadu. He questioned the lack of special projects for the state over the past decade and accused Modi of neglecting Tamil Nadu’s welfare, especially during natural disasters like floods.
The Chief Minister rebuked PM Modi’s visit as opportunistic, citing his swift response to disasters in other states while allegedly ignoring Tamil Nadu’s plight. Stalin emphasized the DMK’s history of prioritizing national security, citing instances where the party put aside regional demands for the greater good of the country.
Stalin reaffirmed the DMK’s commitment to India’s development and federal structure, asserting their ambition to make Tamil Nadu the best state in the nation. He underscored the party’s dedication to serving the people and criticized Modi’s perceived partisan approach.
