The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has escalated its grievances to the Election Commission, filing a formal complaint regarding Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s reported assurances regarding the extension of benefits under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam to additional women beneficiaries. Additionally, the AIADMK has raised concerns over government pleaders engaging in activities aligned with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), instead of fulfilling their duty to defend the State in legal proceedings. In a complaint submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer, AIADMK functionary I.S. Inbadurai highlighted Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s purported commitment to provide benefits to 40 lakh women who have not yet received assistance under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam. The functionary asserted that such promises made during an election campaign directly contravene the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
This complaint comes in the wake of a previous grievance lodged by AIADMK against Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his alleged use of unparliamentary and unethical language against opposition parties during a campaign event on March 31.
