AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, who is contesting from the Theni Lok Sabha constituency on behalf of the BJP, expressed his confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form the government in 2026. Speaking at a program in Andipatti, Dhinakaran released his party’s election manifesto for the development of Theni and shared his insights on the upcoming political landscape.
Dhinakaran emphasized that the decision on the next Chief Minister might be made in 2026, hinting at potential shifts within the political arena. He also alluded to the possibility of the AIADMK returning to the hands of its “true leader,” O Panneerselvam, suggesting a realignment of political forces.
Refuting Chief Minister MK Stalin’s claims about his alliance with the BJP, Dhinakaran asserted that his association was not driven by fear of action from the Enforcement Directorate but rather by his commitment to political principles. He addressed concerns about the FERA case against him, attributing it to political vendetta and expressing his readiness to face the legal proceedings.
Responding to rival contender Thanga Tamilselvan’s assertions regarding the electoral landscape in Theni, Dhinakaran highlighted his past successes, including his victory as an independent candidate in the RK Nagar Assembly by-poll. He emphasized the AMMK’s potential to influence the electoral dynamics in the region.
The manifesto released by Dhinakaran’s party underscored key developmental priorities for Theni, including proposals for the establishment of a new airport and a central university.
