Extending greetings for Tamil New Year, Modi discussed the BJP’s manifesto and its Sankalp Patra, highlighting key promises such as free treatment for seniors over 70 and the expansion of agricultural centers. He also pledged to establish India as a food processing hub and develop new production clusters for fisheries.
Highlighting the NDA government’s initiatives for Tamil Nadu’s development, Modi mentioned the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express and hinted at the possibility of introducing bullet trains in the South, with surveys set to begin in the future.
Taking aim at the opposition parties, Modi criticized the DMK and Congress for their negative campaign against the BJP and highlighted their failures in fulfilling promises and addressing the needs of the people in the state. He also slammed them for the controversial decision to give away Katchatheevu Island, which continues to affect fishermen in Tamil Nadu.
Modi emphasized the positive impact of BJP government schemes on women in Tamil Nadu, citing examples such as the Mudra Scheme, which has provided significant financial assistance to residents of the state. The BJP’s manifesto pledges further support for women empowerment, including increased assistance under the Mudra Yojana and training for women from self-help groups in various sectors.
