State BJP president K Annamalai has strongly criticized the ruling DMK government for failing to protect the people of Tamil Nadu, following the tragic incident of violence against a woman named Gomathi. Annamalai asserted that Chief Minister MK Stalin’s aspirations to save India must begin with ensuring the safety of Tamil Nadu residents from his party’s members. The incident, which occurred near Cuddalore, saw Gomathi brutally attacked allegedly by DMK functionaries for voting for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. Annamalai called for immediate action against the perpetrators and emphasized the importance of upholding citizens’ fundamental rights in a democracy. He urged the government to swiftly address the issue and bring the culprits to justice, highlighting the grave implications of political violence on democratic values.
