As May approaches, the picturesque hills of the Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu are gearing up for a grand celebration of nature’s bounty. The Nilgiris Flower and Fruit Show Committee has announced the eagerly awaited annual events, promising a spectacle of vibrant blooms and luscious fruits against the backdrop of lush greenery.
Now in its remarkable 126th edition, the Nilgiris Flower Show is set to enchant visitors for six consecutive days, extending its duration from the customary five days of previous years. The enchanting showcase will take place at the Government Botanical Garden in the charming hill station of Ooty, commencing from May 17.
Steeped in tradition and renowned for its breathtaking displays, the flower show promises to be a feast for the senses, captivating attendees with a kaleidoscope of colors, fragrances, and exotic floral arrangements. From meticulously curated garden landscapes to intricately designed floral sculptures, the event will showcase the rich diversity of flora found in the region, including indigenous species and exotic imports.
Not to be outdone, the equally illustrious Fruit Show, now in its 64th edition, will delight visitors with its delectable offerings. Set against the idyllic backdrop of Sim’s Park in the picturesque town of Coonoor, the three-day extravaganza will commence from May 24. Attendees can expect to indulge in a tantalizing array of succulent fruits, from juicy mangoes to crisp apples, all grown locally in the fertile hills of the Nilgiris.
